Pixels, sound, and shaders woven into living images
I build tools and art that come from code. I am the creator of acidcamGL and ACMX2. I write shaders and work with audio driven effects. The result is a set of pieces that feel like motion even when frozen in a frame. This page introduces me and explains how the work is made. Who I am
I am Jared, an independent developer and artist who likes to turn code into visuals. I work with OpenGL and custom tools to explore color, symmetry, glitch, and rhythm. My projects grow from curiosity and from a love of building everything from the ground up. I enjoy shaping software that lets sound and pixels meet in surprising ways.
acidcamGL and ACMX2
acidcamGL is a real time video tool that routes frames through GPU shader effects. It can take a camera feed or a video file, then apply chains of transformations that react to what is on screen. ACMX2 is a companion workflow that focuses on mixing source media with shader packs, sorting and loading effect lists, and pairing audio analysis with visuals. Together they let me process images and video into new compositions that carry motion and structure.
How the artwork is created
I start with a source. It can be a photo, a video, or a live capture. I choose a shader pack and tune parameters that control hue, symmetry, distortion, feedback, and noise. When audio is part of the input I map features like amplitude and transients to shader values. This links beats and timbre to motion and color shifts. I export stills and sequences, then select frames that carry a strong sense of flow and balance. The aim is to keep the energy of a performance inside a single image.
Files and viewing
The Google Drive folder holds curated stills and sometimes short clips. Stills are high resolution PNG or JPEG. Clips are standard formats that play on most devices. New work is added when a shader set inspires a fresh direction or when a session produces images that stand on their own.
